Pique Platform Sandals ($995 at Saks)
I love these! They are such a classic shape with a great color. Plus, they zip up in the back!

Straratata Glitter Platform Sandals ($1,045 at Saks)
These shoes are insane! I love how the glitter is done tastefully so it doesn’t look like a 5 year old’s shoes. Even the heel has glitter! Ah these shoes are so amazing.

Studded Zipper Ballet Flats ($680 at Saks)
Wow. These ballet flats are so kick ass. they have studs AND the trim is a zipper detail! What a fabulous idea!

Freddy Studded Lace-Ups ($995 at Saks)
I foresee these shoes being a big hit, especially among the hipsters. These shoes leave me speechless. They are just beyond words amazing.
I love when the new Louboutins come out. It’s one of my favorite days, even if I cant afford any of the shoes. These are my favorites from the new Spring collection that just hit Saks.
Posts are going to be kind of short this week because I’m moving into my new apartment Thursday! Although I’m excited about moving, it’s not really the greatest thing for running a blog and going to school. More than half of my clothes and all of my shoes are in boxes. Actually, I need to go do some more packing now! xoxo emily

Bagtique Large Pleated Satchel ($73.90 at Nordstrom)

Juicy Couture 'Downtown It Girl' Crossbody Messenger Bag (on sale for $188.90 at Nordstrom)

London Fog Ashley North South Satchel ($95 at Sears)
School’s back in and I have new backpack fever. I’m currently using a North Face backpack (the Jester), but it just seems really juvenile to me. Yeah it’s a lot more comfortable, but I want something a little different. I really like the whole idea of a fold over messenger bag with giant pockets.. I think it’s adorable. Unfortunately, they are expensive! So I set out to find one at least under $200. This is what I came up with. I think my absolute favorite is the London Fog bag. Ah! It’s exactly what I’m looking for, but it’s sold out! Do you guys have any suggestions?

This is kind of a glimpse of what I was dealing with yesterday. I had to wake up quite early in order to get to my 9am class in time. Wow it was windy! I have a SUV and it still had trouble! The first days of classes are always the worst because you have a lot of unneccessary gaps in what would normally be a very full day. I’ve been having some technical difficulties with netbooks and internet, so sorry for the lack of posts! On a side note, said SUV’s fuel pump died last night, stranding me at school for an extra two hours before I could get a tow truck. Normal posts will be back up tomorrow! xoxo emily

Ashlee Simpson out in NYC 1/19/10

Whitney Port out in NYC 1/19/10
I go back to school tomorrow and the usual conundrum presented itself to me: what do I wear? I have a full and busy day, so I want to be comfortable, but still look pulled together. I don’t want to look to dressy dressy or like I was trying to hard. I came across these paparazzi pictures and I think they embody the caz cool look I want to go for. I’ll have to take a picture tomorrow to let you guys know how it goes!

wearing express blue ruffle top, joe’s jeans, and candie’s mary jane stud heels.
Last night I went downtown to my favorite place, The Mix. It’s literally how I would decorate my house. The reason to celebrate? Darsi turned 22! We got a private room, which was amazing. Whenever some skeezy people would start annoying us we would just close the curtain! I tried on so many things trying to pick out the perfect outfit. I recently found this shirt and fell in love with it all over again. It’s supposed to close at the neck to have a sort of choker effect, but it always makes me feel like I’m choking, so I chose to wear it open this time. I wish I would have been wearing it like this every time!
School starts this week (boo! hiss!) and I’m trying to pack (moving again, eh?) so hopefully posts won’t get few and far between. Hopefully everyone had a fun three day weekend! xoxo emily

victoria’s secret pink sweatshirt, american eagle tank top, american eagle jeans, steve madden fringe boots.
Today I went to a biker expo.- kind of random, but fun! I felt the fringe boots were as “biker” as I was willing to go, though. I went with my aunt and my sister and had a blast! Hope your weekend rocks! xoxo emily

Colin Stuart over the knee boots from Victoria’s Secret
I really like over the knee boots, anyone on who follows me on Chictopia knows it. My boyfriend got me these for Christmas and this is how I wore them. I’ve been having some trouble figuring out how to wear them lady like. What are your ideas? How are you guys wearing them?

I love how feminine all of the ruffles are in this outfit. The outrageousness of the top is balances out by the simpler bottom.

I don't know why, but I am super obsessed with the idea of wearing bloomers. I would love a pair to try and throw into the mix.

Safari jackets are becoming very popular, but I think that they are very outdated. I do love the boxiness of the jacket with the billowing ruffle mess of the piece underneath, however. I would die to have a dress/skirt with that sort of silhoutte at the bottom.
I was looking for some inspiration today and the Marc Jacobs Spring 2010 Ready to Wear line was just the ticket (all of the pictures are from New York Magazine). I love this whole preppy 1970s look that we’re seeing. It’s fantastic. I’m so excited for fashion week next month! I can’t wait to see what everyone has planned! Just a quick post to tide you over until tomorrow! xoxo emily

plaid wannabe ray-bans, scarf from american eagle, striped shirt, jean vest from express, black bangle from the $1 aisle at target, heart shaped ring, vintage dooney and bourke bag (straps detach), candie’s faux leather leggings, and steve madden fringe boots.
Today was so pretty! There was this nice breeze and hardly any clouds so the sun got to shine! Although, the sun didn’t dry up all of the mud where I took the first few pictures. Gross! Man, today was amazing. It totally felt like Spring! So perfect that today is my really close friend Darsi’s (Hi!) birthday!!
When I’m not feeling well (why am I always sick?) I comb through old magazines to get ideas. Today I went through the Teen Vogue from September 2009 and found a page on Dree Hemingway (an adorable model). I instantly became obsessed and decided to recreate one of her outfits my way.

As you can tell, I didn’t copy it verbatim, just the bones. If you’re a regular ChiqueChic reader, than you know I am a huge fan of the whole “model off duty” look. Dree Hemingway is definitely one of my favs for pulling that off. I’ve never really liked how jean jackets fit so I ended up going with a jean vest instead. Since today seemed like Spring, I wanted to add in some florals so I threw on the scarf, which led to the fringe boots because it all seemed kind of folky to me. I haven’t had a chance to wear my new (to me) Dooney yet, which completed the look. I really liked this outfit. It was really comfy, but not boring. Oh, and those sunglasses. I got them this summer and never really wear them. They were out of my comfort zone when I bought them, but I’m a lot gutsier now. I predict them showing up with many outfits this year.
My very first issue of Nylon arrived today! I’m so stoked! It has Hilary Duff on the cover (I love her!). Can’t wait to read it! In fact, I’m going to go read it now. Until tomorrow, xoxo emily.

Matt took my pictures today and he was being hilarious. He was totally playing fashion photographer.
red flower headband my mom crocheted, wet seal motorcycle jacket, blue old navy tank top, burberry scarf, joe’s jeans (cigarette skinny- honey), love culture ankle boots, and Fendi bag.
Today has been pretty yucky. I didn’t sleep very well and it’s been raining all day! And to top it off, Matt’s friends were coming over and we needed totally paper like whoa. So we braved the rain and ran to the store. The lady in front of us was super nice to let us cut her in line (we only had the TP, a can of chili, and a loaf of bread- random right?). Plus, I was lucky enough to get some outfit pictures in before it started pouring again!
I really missed wearing my faux leather jacket, so I decided I was gonna wear it today. I already had the tank top on so I just added my favorite pair of jeans and some cool boots. It seemed a little boring so I dug around and pulled out my Burberry scarf and the headband my mom made me for Christmas. I love this headband! I saw a similar one on etsy, but it was way overpriced so my mom made me one. Now I have one and it actually has sentimental value. But let me tell you, if you’re going to wear a headband like this, you can’t be very shy because everyone is going to be staring at you (i.e. it). I learned to turn out looks from people in high school so it didn’t really bother me, so don’t say I didn’t warn you. Hope it’s not raining everywhere else! xo Emily
