My new shoes finally came! I have been searching for a pair of strappy tie booties for SO long.

What I love even more about them? They’re blue, my favorite color!

They’re the softest leather ever. They even have cushioning so they won’t hurt my feet!

I am so in love with my new Nine West Jemmia sandals/booties. I’m very picky when it comes to shoes and this fit the bill all the way. It’s a funny story actually, I almost ordered them online from Macy’s last Friday, but decided to wait and then Saturday ended up being their one day sale! They were marked down another $20! Sweet, right? I had a $50 Macy’s gift card, too, so all I had to pay was a little of the shipping costs! Can’t complain ’bout that! These shoes are so soft. What I really love about them is the dark wood platform and heel. It compliments the blue really well. And another great thing is the fact that they have an exposed zipper on the back! Cute and easy to slip on! Seriously, I am in love with these shoes. I’m sure you will be seeing a lot of them on my blog. Actually, I got another pair of shoes today (thanks Dad!), and I’m dying to wear them tomorrow when I go thrifting! You’ll see them soon enough! Have an amazing weekend! xoxo emily

I am super sick right now (I have a terrible fever!), but it’s been too long since I posted last and how can I get better when all I can think about is blogging? Right?! Here’s what I wore to the Fashion Fights Aids Fashion Show in San Francisco last Friday night. Have you guys ever ordered something online and then all you could think about was how you’d pair the new item? Well, that’s what happened with this. I ordered a pair of super cute heels and all I could think about was those and since I have nothing like my new shoes (they’ll be here Thursday!), I had trouble focusing on the task at hand. I did finally come up with this outfit. I love the double scarves, I think it’s fun to mix and match and it gave my look some color. As you can tell I wore my new purse. I was way glad I did when I saw how the show was set up. The venue was SO packed. Everyone was elbow to elbow and having a big purse made carrying my huge camera easy (I just threw it in my purse). Okay, time to go back to bed and watch On Demand movies. I think “Coco before Chanel” is calling my name. xoxo emily

It’s nice to see a picture of Hilary Duff not wearing gym clothes! She cleans up nicely! I’m not so sure if I’m loving the shoes. I think they would have been a lot cuter if the chain draped over the the back of the shoe rather than the front. And the buckle/strap instantly reminds me of another accessory (ankle monitor anyone?). I like the classic look of her black dress (it has an exposed zipper on the back!) but I’m not loving the length. I think it could stand to lose a couple inches and still be appropriate (especially since she was shopping). And then obviously you can’t go wrong with an Hermès Birkin bag! I’ve gotta give the girl props for how classy she looks, though! She looks very fresh and put together with her hair pulled back in a bun. What do you think, would you wear this?

This is one fashion show you do not want to miss! It’s a benefit show for the AIDS Walk! Fashion with a cause? Yes, please! The show will feature designers, students, and models from the bay area. The featured designers are Rebel Voices, Serena Highes Design, L by Lasan, Josephine Resort, Inlush with Jewelry by Fashion Art 4 Humanity, G82 Design, Byanbe, NK Swim with Christine Jewelry, Agape Luv, West Coast Leather, Kitty Andrews Millinery (Yay!), Danielle Pettee, Magdalena Trevor, and Jewelry Miz B. I’m so excited!! Oh, and make sure you get there early- the first 100 guests get a free gift bag! They open the doors at 8pm, and the show starts at 9pm. The show is being held on July 16, 2010 at the Horizon Lounge in San Francisco, which means this is a 21+ event. So what are you waiting for? Buy your tickets here for $15 or $20 at the door (proceeds from the show will be donated to the San Francisco AIDS Foundation).

Why I love this look:

• Navy is just as flattering as black.
• The shrug lightens up the outfit and ties in the brown accessories.
• The shrug is light enough for the summer heat, but warm enough to take on the cool air conditioning.
• The braided belt, the hanging strap bag, and the strappy sandals all work so well together! LOVE!

I was so excited to finally wear my plaid tights! I’m really particular on how I wear thigh high boots because the line between fashionable and trashy is very thin. I think the baby doll dress and plaid tights make the rest of the outfit feel very young and downplayed the craziness of the boots. I was going to an avant-garde show so I wanted to make sure my outfit was especially fun. I felt like a cute doll the whole night. Not a bad way to feel, right? Lucky for me San Francisco doesn’t get very warm (the high for the day was in the mid 60s) so I could wear a more Fall type of outfit.

Funny story: after circling the block a few times we finally settled on a parking garage. Turns out it closes at 7pm and we didn’t get back to the car until after 10:30! After a sprint around the block looking for another entrance I can safely say these boots were not made for walking. Don’t worry, we got lucky and someone came and opened it for us. It actually worked out better because our parking was $5 cheaper than we expected! This is why I always call my trips “adventures,” because they always are one! xoxo emily

Last night I went to Design Vendetta. It was so much fun! It was like watching Project Runway in person!

Do you remember when I wrote about this top a while ago? Well, it finally went on sale and I tried it on and I had to have it. Unfortunately they didn’t have it in my size so I had to find it on ebay. It finally came in the mail and I knew I had to wear it to this event. I wanted to make it look like a dress so I wore khaki shorts (so they would sort of blend into my skin). What I didn’t anticipate was how difficult it would be to pair shoes with it! I tried on several pairs before finally deciding on these. A purse was even harder. I think I need to invest in some more brown purses. And of course I threw on my favorite necklace. I’ve been wearing it so much lately! I took a ton of pictures from the event last night, but I decided to split this into two parts so you don’t get bogged down!

I think this is a very typical “me” pose. As in this is something I would do when I wasn’t posing. Did that make sense?

I wore this outfit to see Eclipse! I got this tee on sale for like $5 back when New Moon was still in theaters. Theaters are always so cold so I made sure I wore long enough pants to keep me warm in the A/C, but short enough that I wouldn’t be dying once I went back outside into the heat. I picked out this bag because it is so neutral, it just goes with everything. Plus, it can fit two sodas and snacks. I mean, that is if one ever needed to, not that I sneak anything in to the movies or anything…

I absolutely love the rich color of my t-shirt. It’s such a pretty blue. Oh, in case you can’t see it in the pictures, it says, “SPARTANS Forks High School Forks, WA.” So cute, right! I like it because if I don’t feel like being openly nerdy about my Twilight addiction, I can still get away with this shirt somewhat. Since the color of the shirt was a deep blue, I decided to pair it with my favorite pair of sandals by Steve Madden. They are the best shade of hot pink ever and I never fail to get complimented on them when I wear them out. I always feel the most like myself when I’m just in jeans and a t-shirt.

And just a side note, I loved Eclipse! But then again, I am a true fan. Have a good weekend!

Oh goodness. There have been so many great opportunities for my blog lately that I’m starting to feel a little bit of whiplash in all of the excitement! That being said, I was very excited to be invited to my first (what I would consider) fashion show. I’ve been to many before, but this one seemed the real deal and had the added bonus of being in San Francisco. I just really want to show how appreciative I am. Thank you!

In preparation for this fashion show, I went on many shopping trips to find the perfect outfit that would define who I felt I was as a fashion blogger. I found this corset top and built the rest of the outfit around it. By the way, I got the top on clearance from JCPenney’s for only $8! I loved having San Fran as a backdrop for my outfit pictures. I feel very jealous of the ladies who live there and have the opportunity to always do this. Very jealous indeed.

I wore this to play tourist in San Francisco. We went to the Westfield Mall on Market Street (it’s 8 stories high!). My family never goes to stores we have at home so I had never been before. I was pleasantly surprised to find that it was a very pretty mall. We got lunch and then browsed a few stores like Kate Spade New York. We then headed across the street to the 3 story Forever21 store. That’s where I got the cute locket I’m wearing in the pictures for $5! Then we hit up Urban Outfitters and a record store. All in all, this outfit was definitely very fun to go shopping in and I felt stylish the whole day.

On a side note, the line for the fitting room at Forever21 was ridiculous! Don’t plan to try on clothes there!! xoxo
