Face Unafraid

wearing: hand me down top, love culture bib necklace, forever 21 faux leather shorts, and candies studded mary jane platform heels.

Do you ever wake up and just know what you want to wear? I love when that happens! Today I ran a few errands and this outfit kept up with me. Which leads me to my next point. Just because you are simply running errands does not mean you should look like a slob! I looked polished, but I was still really comfortable!

I’ve been watching a lot of TCM movies (mostly the movies from the 1920s- 1960s). I love how put together women used to always be. Women used to get completely made up to go to the grocery store. Nowadays most people just throw on a sweatshirt and some jeans. It’s crazy the difference, right? I know some might say that it’s liberating. I would have to disagree. It’s very easy to put together an outfit that looks nice without being uncomfortable or taking forever to piece together. Let’s all try a little harder!

On another note, I’ve been going through my wardrobe. I’ll be the first to admit I have way too many clothes. It’s fun to go through my clothes every now and then because I forgot about a lot of pieces. It’s like going shopping for free! Have you guys ever heard of a swap party? It’s where everyone brings a bag of clothes and you swap! I’m going to my very first one this weekend and I’m so excited! I hope I end up with some pieces I love! After the swap is over I’m going to write a post about how to get the most out of the experience.

Do you guys think we should dress nicely to run errands? Do you? Have any of you been to a swap party? Do you have any advice for me? Let me know! Leave a comment!

  1. You’re right! We should all try harder to dress nicely. Great post!

  2. I never even wear jeans. I think that they are so unfeminine. Women should always dress up, no matter the occasion.

  3. after a long day it’s comforting to know that i can just run to the grocery store in my pajamas, grab some milk, and be back home watching tv.

  4. If you want to get the most out of your swap then you need to go into it realizing you might not end up with anything.

  5. Only two reasons allow for women to dress down:
it’s that time of the month
    or
    they have a cold! LOL

  6. Agreed! Sweats should never be worn out of the house unless you are working out.

  7. I would love it if everyone dresses up on a daily basis. I know its hard when its cold out or when you are tired but everyone used to radiate elegance – something that is sorely missing today!
