I’m Back

wearing: abbey dawn vest, wet seal lace top, express embellished belt, vintage striped skirt, candie’s quilted bag, and candie’s studded mary-jane heels.

Oh the lovely Kohl’s sent me a $10 gift card so I decided to make it into some sort of game. Since I’m broke, I decided I would try to spend $10 over the gift card tops (I spent $10.01 so I guess I did pretty well).

It took some time (more on how to budget shop tomorrow), but I ended up with that bad ass jacket/vest and that gorgeous bag. I died when I saw that bag.

I know everyone gets dressed differently so let me walk you through how I came to this outfit. First, I knew I wanted to incorporate my two new items because I really wanted to unveil them on my blog today. Since the jacket and the purse are very similar and basic, that was not going to be very hard.

I decided that I wanted to do a whole leather and lace thing and put something super girly with the jacket to calm it down a little. Thus came my lacey top from wet seal. I got that top for Christmas and I feel very content that I finally found a way to wear it.

Deciding on a skirt or pants was a lot harder than I would have thought. I really wanted to wear some printed tights, but I felt it would have been a little much. I was thinking about going with shorts, when I discovered this striped skirt. It fit perfectly with my outfit.

I went to go put on my make up when I realized a belt was necessary. I love Jane from Sea of Shoes and she has the most amazing embellished belt, so I decided that was the way I was going to go. The shoes matched the belt perfectly and that was that.

I really think that the best outfits come from picking each piece one by one and a lot of trial and error. It all sounds very complicated, but it really only took me 15 minutes at the most to pick out my entire outfit.
