Happy Turkey Day!

I’m gonna make this short because one, I’m sick and the couch and a warm blanket is calling my name, and two, I’m sure everyone is super distracted by the mere idea that we are all going to be stuffing our faces soon!

So today I had a ton of errands to run before D-Day (aka Black Friday) when all of the stores will be overrun with crazed shoppers. To be honest, the day before Thanksgiving wasn’t a shopping dream either. Alas, I needed toilet paper and dishwasher detergent very badly and the second I walked into Wal-mart I quickly forgot what I needed and succumbed to the chaos. I did manage to find graham crackers and Hershey’s chocolate bars (we already had the marshmallows) so we could make s’mores tonight! Plus, I discovered that there’s a Goodwill next to my bank. Now, going to the bank isn’t even safe from my thrift store addiction.

Now for Emily’s Guide to Dressing on Thanksgiving:

Remember: you are going to be eating a lot of food in a short period of time. Don’t wear any clothes that are too confining. And if you’re like me, you’re going to be spending it with your boyfriend’s family, thus looking nice still applies. I got a GAP baby pink cable knit sweater from Goodwill today and I’m probably going to end up wearing that tomorrow with my favorite pair of skinny jeans. Or I have a new plaid dress. I haven’t decided how dressy I want to go. And as my fellow Californians know, your shoes don’t matter because you will be taking them off the second you enter the door.

Eat as much as you possibly can and happy Black Friday! Some of my best shopping stories are from past Black Fridays. Happy hunting!
